Civil Litigation - Appeals - Mediation - Counseling and Planning

Emphasizing Elder & Family Law; Employment Issues;
and Lawsuits Representing Plaintiffs and Defendants

William J. Cobb and M. Ayres Gardner bring over 60 years of experience to their Metro Atlanta firm. They have successfully represented individuals and businesses in a wide variety of cases, including trials and appeals in both state and federal courts, and planning and preventive counseling. The Cobb & Gardner lawyers prefer the flexibility and freedom of a small firm environment, but have enjoyed much success against even very large firms.

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Gardner is now accepting new clients. Her practice has long included a focus on Employment Law. In addition, her experience as a Guardian ad Litem and as a Magistrate Judge handling domestic violence cases, as well as personal experience as guardian of an incapacitated adult and advisor to elderly family members, has led her to add a limited but growing number of Family Law and Elder Law cases to her practice. Elder law is a rapidly growing field which recognizes that the elderly, and their families and care givers, face a wide range of unique legal, practical and planning needs. Commonly faced issues include, just as examples, Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid eligibility and benefits; short, medium and long term health care options; and end of life concerns involving money, property and the preservation of personal dignity. Advance planning can do much to ease these and other burdens that inevitably accompany the aging process.

Mr. Cobb has a long track record successfully representing people and businesses, both plaintiffs and defendants, in many different kinds of disputes. Representation on appeal can be provided even if he was not involved in the case earlier. His experience includes, among other areas: Executive Severance solutions - Non-compete and other restrictive employment agreements - Commercial and Contract litigation - Home/Condo Ass'n disputes (owner's side) - Professional Partnership Dissolution - Residential Construction Defects - Employment Discrimination, Harassment, Retaliation and Overtime claims -  Personal Injury - Defective Computer Programming - Constitutional law - Scientific evidence - Analysis of voluminous data - Elder law issues.

While Cobb & Gardner, LLP has decades of litigation experience, the firm also has extensive experience in obtaining excellent outcomes for clients through negotiation, mediation, counseling and planning. Those approaches, either in conjunction with or instead of litigation, may in appropriate cases provide the best balance among often competing factors such as time, expense, hardship, uncertainty, and monetary and other relief.

Cobb & Gardner clients receive personal attention; realistic and practical case evaluation and planning; ongoing information and consultation about their cases; fair and understandable billing; and expert representation designed to reach each client's specific goals and objectives as efficiently as possible. No client is ever "just another case."
